Specimen Information

serum - NY approved. 3 mL should be collected and allowed to clot prior to centrifugation. Patients taking calcineurin inhibitors should stop their medication 72 hours prior to draw. Patients on prednisone should be off their medication 2 weeks prior to draw. If the specimen is to be held for more than a week, it should be stored frozen until shipped to the lab.
